E.g., I heard that college students who are still dependent on their parents will get screwed out of it, the logic being that they weren't supporting themselves anyway. You know why that's happening? Because college students refuse to vote in elections. So politicians figure, "Okay, well, you won't be needing a check from this government then." Why waste money on people who aren't going to vote; the whole point to handing out a big check is to bribe people into voting for those who supported the handout legislation in Congress.

And you know what they say -- "If you didn't vote, you can't complain." They also, for that reason, shouldn't complain that Bernie didn't get the nomination. I bet Bernie would have given them a $1,200 check, and more; he's usually been pretty interested in helping out college students.
