If they let people like me kill ourselves, they'd end up having to let everyone else kill themselves. If they said, "Men who have been out of work for three years are allowed to kill themselves," they'd have to give the same privilege to everyone. After all, imagine if there were another Great Depression; there could be all kinds of men who are in that situation and might want to kill themselves.

But also, the way politics works is that people try to get a wedge in the door to bring about more reforms, by starting with a small reform to address extreme cases. That's how it was with pot; medical pot led to recreational pot. In fact, in many cases medical pot was recreational pot. Pentobarbital has mostly stopped being used for sleeping pills because people can't be trusted not to kill themselves with it.

In the case of MGTOWs, a lot of these guys have successfully married and even had kids, but due to an absent or bad male role model, or society telling their old lady that she could do better, they ended up divorced in their 30s paying alimony with little ability to raise their kids. They see the current society that either failed to teach them to lead in a relationship, or that encouraged their ex-wife to divorce them, as the problem. They recognise that their marriages might not have failed in a previous era.

Incels are another level of that which trends into the absurd.. many of them being men who would not have succeeded in any previous era. In the case of some of these people, they feel entitled to government-issued girlfriends to pay for their NEET lifestyle. Larson is just an extreme example, where he feels that he should be maintained by his mother and later, a wife to jack off to child pornography and eventually rape the daughters he spawns. Something that in any normal society, as existed to some extent in previous eras in America and still does elsewhere in the world, would have caused him to be beaten to death by his neighbours.

Well, why am I here, then? Even if I just said, "You know what, I'm just gonna sit around my house and not feel entitled to anything beyond bread and water," it still wouldn't give me a purpose. I'm just here because to get rid of me would lead to getting rid of a lot of others that society wants to keep around.

It's kinda like with the death penalty -- the death penalty is being abolished because leftists don't want a bunch of blacks to be executed. The result, though, is that the occasional white like Dylann Roof who kills a bunch of blacks will also be spared. Maybe that serves their purpose too, though, because they don't want to martyr him (kind of like how maybe they wouldn't want me to kill myself either because then I might also serve as some kind of martyr).

Another purpose of my being around is so that my mom can have a human housepet to keep her company, since she doesn't have any grandchildren who haven't been given up for adoption.

However, this is also socially isolating in a way. E.g., she can't really get invited to a lot of events, like Thanksgiving with relatives or July 4th at a friend's house, because they would have to specifically say, "Nathan isn't invited" so that I'd be left at home.

There've been situations where family did actually say, "Nathan isn't invited, because there'll be little kids around" and my mom made a big deal about it. There was also one time where I wasn't specifically disinvited, but a friend of my mom's, who was hosting the July 4th party, just acted told toward me the whole time, as did some other people who were there. So I got the message that I wasn't welcome to come back. Nonetheless, they still don't invite my parents over there anymore, I guess because they're worried that maybe I didn't get the message clearly enough and therefore would show up again if they were invited.
