Many of us hoped that by allowing people to freely communicate with each other via the internet great things would emerge and to some extent that has happened it pales in comparison to the massive amount of full crimes and things that clearly should be illegal.
The internet was originally made to be open but increasingly it seems like that was a naive dream, some people are still holding onto that but increasingly it's becoming more and more clear that we simply have to give up on that fantasy.
Allowing a massive amount of crime simply isn't worth it for the sake of marginally less censorship. When was the last time some great idea was spread on telegram? generally if you do have some great idea you don't need to use shady channels to spread it.
