It's in part that modern nintendo games are unappealing to me. I don't tend to like the artstyle or gameplay they are going for.

I also generally lost interest in 2D games. I kinda enjoyed playing kaizo 3 even though i couldn't beat the final boss but after that i felt kinda done with 2D and that's enough i think.

Metroid prime trilogy: already beaten all 3 games and i no longer want to play at such a low framerate.

Metroid prime remaster: i honestly think the original game looks more appealing to me and it's still limited to 60fps.

Metroid prime 4: looks like slop, might emulate it in 10 years to see if my assessment was right (or i borrow a switch 2 from someone to try it earlier).

I find that the games i actually want to play are all on PC now. I find myself drawn to games with very hardcore gameplay like the first haydee or code vein without partner.

Even if i wanted to play some nintendo 64 title PC would still be the better option thanks to the much higher framerate of the decompilation ports.

yeah switch sucks now. no new game the switch 2 has 2 offer appeals to me,
I may get the xbox handheld or play on a PC and my old switch.

adventures of elliot looks nice, but not 60 usd nice, and no where near as good as Ruiner.

maybe the switch 2 OLED be a different story but the switch 2 is a waste of money and space

Nintendo games aren't even made for kids anymore. They are made for adults who has just picked up a controller and people with severe mental disabilities. Anything that made a title intereting and challanging in the past will be removed in order to make the game very easy to beat.

Well it makes sense for them to target stupid people who keep buying their inferior products.
