Most messy disasters could be avoided by a two-step process.
It's normally the toilet paper that's the culprit behind clogs, but you can at least isolate that from the bulk of the shit by flushing it down separately so that if the toilet paper does clog up the toilet, you're dealing with much less of a mess in that scenario. You'll be pushing a plunger through mostly innocuous toilet paper instead of rapidly disintegrating (and dispersing) shit nuggets or, god forbid, diarrhea.
