A general theme with the political establishment in western countries (at leastt) is how the focus on short-term political goals such as allowing females to freely have abortions while the birth-rate is well below replacement.

And the left and liberals thought that it would be fine to rely on unfiltered immigration instead because they don't want to differentiate between people (turns out it didn't work).

And currently the fertility-situation is so bad it cannot be resolved without rather brutal authoritarian measures. Hungary tried economic incentives which of course utterly failed.

As a bonus there is also various STDs being spread due to politicians not bothering to implement measures that would put a stop too it.

Restrictions when it came to building homes was put in place in order to enrich people who already had property (or for even dumber reasons).
