Butler and other feminists talked about the decline of gender studies in the late 90s and first years of 2000.
It is my opinion that after the 010, feminism gained a lot of political presence in universities.
Is there someone who can explain me why?
I suppose it's just a vicious cycle, where men act more deferential toward women, women get bitchier, etc. When women sense that a man is weak, they lose respect and treat him like shit; and that's what's going on now, as white men compete to be the most respectful to women rather than putting them in their place. It's one of the reasons there's more race-mixing; white women are looking for men who are still patriarchal, which requires them to look to non-white cultures. Meanwhile, they'll still take whatever resources they can get from white men.

Chicks have to have something to do if they're not raising a family, and taking over universities is one of those things. They're gonna be hoping that one day, their work will bring them into contact with Muslims or some other culture that has dominant men. Look how happy Federica Mogherini seems in her headscarf.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38956212 Anne Linde doesn't look happy, but it's probably because she's post-fertility.
