Instead of having a fixed starting position the players take turns deciding the position of a piece type (with black placing the first and last piece).
The following will be placed behind the pawns of each player
1 king
2 dark-square bishops
2 light-square bishops
2 centaurs
3 queens
4 hourses
4 rooks
You will end up with 2 empty places behind the pawns
For each turn the player will decide which piece to place.
If 2 dark square bishops remain you cannot place any other piece on dark square if only 2 dark squares remain
If 1 dark square bishop remain you cannot place any other piece on dark square if only 1 dark square remain
