Guys like Roosh and Victor Pride are trying to turn to religion as a way of gaining some kind of redemption after saying a lot of misogynistic stuff on the Internet.
The problem is, SJW-ism is the dominant religion today, and it offers no path to redemption. It doesn't matter if the Orthodox Church says "You're forgiven for all that fornicating you did, and all those unclean thoughts you had, before you went celibate and deleted all your misogynistic posts"; that doesn't keep the SJWs from giving you a hard time.
The SJWs don't support men being religious, since religious men might be opposed to female sluttiness. Religious men think that if they give up fornication, in exchange, they can get chicks to give up sluttiness. It won't work.
If SJWs were okay with the precepts of, say, Christianity, they would've converted to Christianity. They're not okay with it, though, and there's not really any plan for how Christianity can achieve dominance over SJWs at this point in time. How would they have another rise to power; they already gave up their power so apparently they didn't want it. Why would they arbitrarily try to get their power back now; they obviously don't believe in themselves.
Roosh and the other PUAs are trying to seem harmless so people will leave them alone. That isn't really compatible with having a will to power. And you need power if you want to be treated decently. A harmless man is just a weakling who will be trampled upon; at least a harmless, timid, submissive woman is viewed as desirable because she can be raped and made to clean a man's home and bear his children.
Roosh's strength was his eloquence and willingness to tell the truth. Now he's taken down all that work. What's the point, though?
I understand his psychology because I've been there. He's just doing this in hopes that by making himself irrelevant, he'll be left alone. Okay, but don't expect us to be inspired to join your religion, then. We'll join some other religion that isn't practiced by a bunch of weak, cowardly pussies who want to withdraw from the fight and take down their contributions to society that were what we respected about them.
Because he gives us no reason to join his religion, his religion will never be popular (the ruling elite joins a religion or at least respects the fact that the masses believe in a religion, so therefore it has relevance for what they do), and therefore it will never have power, and therefore it will not serve to shield him from the consequences of what he said in the past.
He's going to be stuck sitting in his basement as an incel, except now he won't even be an incel with a meaningful following that aspires to greatness. He might as well have just gone ER, and let his neomasculinity essay (summarized here) be his manifesto about what kind of world we should have. Then he would have been immortalized.
He's not getting pussy anyway, so what does he have to lose? Girls are not gonna be like, "You're so awesome for renouncing your life's work and becoming yet another beta schlub, except in this case, you're not even a white schlub; you're some middle eastern mongrel with an unkempt beard that looks like public hair except whiter."
Since he devoted the past couple decades to being an intellectual, that shows he's probably not cut out for the work world, so he won't prosper as a beta anyway, even by beta standards.
