If it is true that virtue signaling is a sexual strategy, then why is so ineffective?

And why religious sexless people are engaging virtue signaling without having sexual benefits?

One could argue that most religious people are hypocrites who have sex on a regular basis, degenerates and social parasites. This is true but, if it is so, virtue signaling for them is a deceiving strategy not something they do to increase sexual chances.

I never understood this virtue signaling theory. Attractive males don’t need to signal any virtue. The opposite is true, attractive males benefit more from so called “dark triad” traits, that don’t involve virtue signaling.

People will not act in their own self-interest, we are being socialized to follow social norms instead of looking out for ourselves. People are raised to be 'good' which means self-sacrificing and not questioning authority, in addition a lot of people suffer from neurological altruism that makes life worse for them.

People may think they benefit from virtue signaling and this is enough for them to do that similar to how people willingly take medications against schizophrenia even though it only makes things worse.

There are a ton of betabuxxes who are able to hold their marriage together by continuing to make money and not make any waves that would be inconvenient for the family. So for example, let's say some guy lives in a small town and has a business where he's, say, a lawyer, and he holds some mainstream normie political and cultural views. Or let's say he's an engineer for some big firm, maybe a Koch-owned firm. Life is going to go better for him, and he's going to get more pussy on the regular, if he says and does what's necessary to keep his clients, or keep his job. I mean, he may not get as much young and fresh pussy as he would if he were some hardcore tattooed neo-Nazi thug with a motorcycle but he could get more consistent pussy in the long run, especially if he also is decent-looking, if he can hold down employment, as opposed to getting blacklisted by the SPLC.

That's especially true for, say, psychiatrists, who need to totally buy into the doctrine of their profession and say stuff like, "Oh, if you go against society, it means you're mentally ill because you're sabotaging your own success; therefore you need meds." They are paid to just push pills as much as possible so they can get that return business when people need to get their meds adjusted or get a new prescription when their meds run out. It's a form of virtue signaling because society will approve of that more than of a shrink who says, "Society itself is fucked up and that's why you're miserable and not functioning as you should."

There are some chicks who will let a badboy fuck them, but they still expect a certain amount of virtue signalling once they want to settle down and start giving some betabuxx occasional pussy for the long term. E.g., the middel-aged landwhale wife wants him to say, "Honey, I find your maturity much more appealing than these silly young jailbaits who are too young for me to even find physically attractive because they're just like bony little girls. You have some real meat on your body at least. Besides, these jailbaits' perky boobs are a danger; at least with you, I don't poke my eye out if I accidentally fall and my face hits your chest, because your boobs are safely pointing down at the floor like a pistol that's not intended for immediate use at the firing range."
